Amateur Handler Rule
A person is considered an amateur exhibitor/handler by Mid East Coast Arabian Breeders, Inc. when he or she does not and has not received greater than forty nine (49%)percent of his or her gross income either directly or indirectly from showing, judging, training, or assisting in the training of a horse or horses for remuneration for the previous five (5) calendar years. A person who belongs to a Professional Association may not compete as an amateur in division classes in which that person competes as a professional
The ownership of an eligible foal by a professional requires an amateur handler to participate in MECAB classes.
